Delete Your Reddit Account
- Navigate to the Reddit website in your web browser and log in with your account credentials if you're not already logged in.
- After logging in, locate your username in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to open a dropdown menu.
- Select "User Settings" from the dropdown menu to navigate to your account settings page.
- In the User Settings, scroll down to the bottom of the page and find the “Deactivate Account” option. Click on it.
- Reddit will ask for confirmation. You may be asked to enter your account password to confirm that you want to delete your account.
- If prompted, provide feedback on why you are choosing to delete your account, though this is generally optional.
- Click the “Deactivate” button. After this step, your Reddit account will be deleted permanently.
Important Things to Note
- Deleting your Reddit account is permanent, and you will not be able to recover it once it’s deleted.
- Your posts and comments on Reddit will remain, but they will be disassociated from your username, appearing as coming from “[deleted].”
- Be sure to manually delete any posts or comments you want removed before you deactivate your account.
- Downloaded data, if you want to keep any information or files, should be saved before deleting your account.
