How to Delete Your Slack Account
To permanently delete your Slack account, follow these steps. Remember, deleting your account will remove your access to workspaces and cannot be undone.
- Open Slack on your web browser by visiting the Slack website and log in with your credentials.
- Choose the workspace from which you want to delete your account. Confirm you're in the correct workspace by checking the workspace name at the top left corner.
- Click on your profile picture located in the upper right corner of the screen.
- From the dropdown menu, select Profile & account. This will take you to your profile page.
- On the profile page, choose the More Actions button (three dots) next to the workspace name.
- Click on Account Settings. This option redirects you to the account settings page.
- Scroll to the bottom of the account settings page, where you'll see a section labeled Deactivate Account.
- Select the Deactivate your account button. Note that you might be prompted to enter your password again to confirm deactivation.
- Carefully review the information presented, acknowledging that deactivating will remove your access and is irreversible.
- Follow any additional confirmation prompts to complete the deactivation process.
After you have successfully deactivated your account, remember that your profile information in that workspace will also be permanently deleted. If you are a workspace owner or administrator, make sure you consider the implications of leaving a workspace before deactivating your account.
