Review Before Deleting
- Ensure you fulfill all outstanding transactions, including resolving any unpaid balances.
- Consider downloading your purchase history for future reference. This can be useful for record-keeping or warranty purposes.
- Remember that deleting your eBay account is permanent, and you will lose all feedback, purchase, and sales history associated with your account.
Cancel or Close Active Listings
- Log into your eBay account and go to your "Selling" page.
- Cancel any active listings. You cannot close your account if there are active listings.
- If you have any open disputes or claims, resolve them. Your account cannot be closed with any pending issues.
Navigate to the Account Closure Page
- Visit the eBay homepage, click on your name, and select "Account settings" from the dropdown menu.
- In the "Account" section, find and click the "Closing your eBay account" link.
- Read the information and scroll to find the link that allows you to request account closure.
Submit the Request to Close Your Account
- Select a reason for closing your account. eBay requires you to choose from a list of reasons for statistical purposes.
- Follow the on-screen instructions, confirming your decision to close the account. Double-check your selection before proceeding.
- Submit your request. You will receive an email confirming the closure process, which can take approximately 30 days if there are no pending issues.
Post-Closure Considerations
- During the review period, your account will remain active. If you change your mind, you can contact eBay's customer service to cancel the closure request.
- After the account is successfully closed, any active subscriptions will be canceled automatically.
- If you wish to return to eBay in the future, a new account will need to be created, as the previous one cannot be reinstated.
