Check the Basics
- Ensure that you are wearing your Fitbit Sense correctly on your wrist. The heart rate sensor should maintain firm contact with your skin. Adjust the watch so it's not too tight or too loose.
- Clean the back of your device where the sensors are located. Dirt, sweat, or other residues can interfere with the accuracy of the readings.
Restart the Device
- Restarting your Fitbit Sense can resolve minor software glitches. To do this, press and hold the button for about 10 seconds until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen.
Update the Firmware
- Make sure your Fitbit Sense is running the latest firmware. Open the Fitbit app on your phone, go to your profile, select your device, and tap on the option to update if an update is available.
Check the App Permissions
- Ensure that the Fitbit app has permission to access all necessary data and features on your phone. Go to your phone settings, find the Fitbit app, and enable permissions related to location, Bluetooth, and notifications.
Sync Your Device
- Sometimes, syncing your Fitbit with the app can resolve communication issues. Open the Fitbit app on your smartphone and manually sync your device.
Turn Off "Do Not Disturb" or "Sleep Mode"
- If "Do Not Disturb" or "Sleep Mode" is activated, it may prevent accurate recordings. Check these settings on your device and disable them if necessary.
Factory Reset
- If none of the above steps work, consider performing a factory reset as a last resort. Be aware that this will erase all stored data on your device. To do this, from the watch face, swipe to Settings, then navigate to "About," and select "Factory Reset."
Contact Support
- If after trying all these steps your heart rate sensor is still not working, contact Fitbit customer support for further assistance.
