Check the Power Source
- Ensure the dash cam is properly connected to the power source. Try using a different power outlet or car charger to see if the power source is the issue.
- Inspect the power cable for any visible damage or loose connections. Replace the cable if necessary.
Verify Battery and Charging
- If your dash cam has an internal battery, check if it is charged. Connect it to a power source and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to turn it on again.
- If possible, test with a different battery to ascertain if the current battery is depleted or malfunctioning.
Reset the Dash Cam
- Locate the reset button on the dash cam. It may be a small, recessed button that requires a paperclip or similar object to press.
- Press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds. After releasing it, try turning on the dash cam again.
Update or Reinstall Firmware
- Download the latest firmware for your specific Nextbase dash cam model from the Nextbase website.
- Follow the instructions on the website for reinstalling or updating the firmware. This process typically involves transferring the firmware file to an SD card and inserting it into the dash cam.
- After updating, attempt to turn on the dash cam.
Inspect SD Card
- If an SD card is inserted, remove it and try turning on the dash cam without it. Sometimes a faulty SD card can prevent the device from powering on.
- Format the SD card using a computer before reinserting it into the dash cam.
Contact Support
- If none of the above steps resolve the issue, contact Nextbase customer support for further assistance or repair options.
- Provide them with your dash cam model and a detailed description of the issue for a more effective solution.
