Access the Nest Thermostat
- Press your Nest thermostat's ring to wake it up if needed; then, press the ring again to bring up the menu.
- Navigate to the “Settings” option by rotating the ring, and press the ring again to select it.
Find the Fan Settings
- In the settings menu, scroll and select the “Fan” option. This will take you to the fan control settings where you can adjust how frequently the fan runs.
- Multiple fan operation options will be displayed, such as “Fan Schedule” and “Everyday.” Choose the one that best fits your needs.
Adjust Fan Runtime
- Select “Fan Schedule” or “Everyday” based on your preference. “Fan Schedule” allows you to set specific times for your fan to run, while “Everyday” provides consistent settings throughout the week.
- To set the fan schedule, pick the “Fan Schedule” option and set your desired hours for when you want the fan to run.
- If a consistent daily runtime is preferred, select “Everyday” and specify how long you would like the fan to run every hour, such as 15, 30, or 45 minutes.
Save the Settings
- Once your preferences are set, confirm your selections to save them. Use the Nest thermostat ring to navigate back if needed.
- To ensure the settings are active, monitor the thermostat display; it should show any scheduled fan runtimes or indicate the total minutes it plans to run each day.
Check and Test Settings
- Manually test the fan setting to validate your configurations. This can help ensure the fan operates as expected during the hours scheduled.
- Observe how these settings impact your home environment and adjust if necessary to optimize comfort versus energy efficiency.
