Access Google Home App
- Download and open the Google Home app on your smartphone or tablet.
- Ensure that your Google Nest Hub is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your device.
Select Your Device
- On the home screen of the app, you will see a list of connected devices. Find and tap on your Google Nest Hub.
Access Device Settings
- In the top-right corner of the screen, look for the gear icon, which represents settings. Tap on it to open the device settings menu.
Adjust Display Settings
- Within the settings menu, scroll down to find and select "Display Settings" or a similarly named option.
- Here, you can adjust various settings such as brightness, screen color, and screen timeout. Choose the display setting you wish to change.
Change Brightness
- For changing brightness, you might see options for "Auto-Brightness" that adjusts the brightness based on ambient light. You can turn this off if you want to set the brightness manually.
- Drag the brightness slider to your desired level. Higher brightness may use more energy, but it's suitable for well-lit environments.
Adjust Ambient EQ
- If available, use the Ambient EQ feature, which automatically adjusts the screen's color and brightness to match the light in the room. You can toggle this feature on or off depending on your preference.
Screen Timeout Settings
- You can also set how long the display stays on when not active. This is helpful to save energy or for privacy purposes.
- Choose a preferred duration for screen timeout, which might be listed in minutes or options like "Never".
Saving Changes
- Once you have made your changes, there usually isn't a "Save" button. You can simply exit the settings menu, and your changes should automatically be saved and applied.
Confirm Changes
- Look at your Google Nest Hub to ensure your changes have taken effect. If something didn't change as expected, revisit the settings to ensure your choices were correctly selected.
Troubleshooting
- If the display settings are not applying correctly, restart your Google Nest Hub by unplugging it and plugging it back in.
- Ensure your Google Home app is up to date, as settings control features can be limited on outdated versions.
