Access the Ecobee Mobile App or Web Portal
- First, you need to open the Ecobee app on your smartphone or navigate to the Ecobee web portal on your computer's browser.
- Ensure that you are logged in with your correct username and password. If you are not already logged in, enter your credentials to access your account.
Navigate to Settings
- In the mobile app, locate the menu icon, usually represented by three horizontal lines, in the top left or right corner of the screen. Tap on it to open the menu.
- If you are using the web portal, find the 'Settings' option on the dashboard and click on it to enter the settings section.
Access Preferences or Alerts & Reminders
- Within the settings menu of either the app or web portal, locate the section for 'Preferences' or 'Alerts & Reminders.' This section contains settings related to your system’s alerts.
Disable Continuous Monitoring
- Once you are in the 'Preferences' or 'Alerts & Reminders' section, look for an option related to continuous monitoring or Smart Home/Away settings.
- If your intention is to disable continuous monitoring entirely, toggle off any features or alerts associated with it, such as Smart Home/Away or follow certain procedures specific to your model's firmware.
Save Changes
- After you've made the adjustments, ensure that you save the changes before exiting. There is usually a 'Save' or 'Apply' button at the bottom of the page or screen.
- Confirm any pop-up messages if prompted, to make sure that your changes are being correctly updated.
Check System’s Status
- To confirm that continuous monitoring has been disabled, return to the home screen of your Ecobee app or web portal.
- Observe any notifications or perform a test to ensure that your system is functioning according to the new settings.
