Understand How Ecobee Works
- Ecobee thermostats have built-in sensors for both temperature and humidity. They use these sensors to help optimize your home's climate settings.
- The thermostat can be controlled via the Ecobee mobile app, web portal, or directly through the device. You can adjust humidity settings through these platforms.
Set the Humidity Level
- Go to the main menu on your Ecobee thermostat or mobile app and select "Settings."
- Choose "Installation Settings" or "Preferences," depending on your version of the app.
- Find and select the "Humidity" option. Here you can set your desired indoor humidity level.
- If your home is dry, increase the humidity level. If it's too humid, decrease the level.
Check Your HVAC System
- Your HVAC system must support a humidifier/dehumidifier, which Ecobee can control. Ensure these are correctly connected and configured in the system settings menu.
- Examine the wiring for any issues, ensuring the humidifier/dehumidifier is properly installed and connected to the Ecobee.
Use Smart Features
- Enable "Smart Home/Away" and other intelligent solutions within the Ecobee application to automatically adjust humidity based on when people are home or away.
- Make use of schedule settings to fine-tune humidity control throughout different times of the day.
Maintain the Sensors
- Keep your Ecobee thermostat and additional sensors clean and free from dust to ensure accurate readings.
- Replace batteries in remote sensors regularly, as low battery levels can affect readings and performance.
Monitor and Adjust
- Regularly check the humidity levels reported by the Ecobee to ensure they match your comfort requirements. Adjust as needed through the app or thermostat interface.
- If you consistently face issues, consult the user manual or contact Ecobee support for advanced troubleshooting steps.
