Linking Google Nest Cameras to Alexa
- Set Up Your Google Nest Camera
- Ensure that your Google Nest camera is properly set up in the Google Home app. This involves connecting it to your Wi-Fi network and placing it in the desired location.
- Use the Alexa App
- Open the Alexa app on your mobile device. If you don’t have it, download and install it from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Ensure your Alexa-enabled device is set up and connected to your home Wi-Fi.
- Enable Google Nest Skill
- Tap on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner of the Alexa app.
- Select "Skills & Games" from the dropdown menu. Search for "Google Nest" using the search bar.
- Click on the Google Nest skill and select "Enable to Use."
- Link Google Account
- You will be prompted to sign in to your Google account. Enter your credentials and grant permission to allow Alexa access to your Google Nest cameras.
- Discover Devices
- Once the skill is enabled and accounts are linked, ask Alexa to "Discover devices." This command will allow Alexa to find your Google Nest cameras.
- Access Your Camera with Alexa
- After the devices are discovered, you can view your Google Nest camera feed. For instance, say "Alexa, show the [camera name] on [Echo Show or Fire TV device name]."
- Troubleshooting
- If you encounter any issues, ensure that both your Alexa device and Google Nest camera are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Try disabling and re-enabling the Google Nest skill in the Alexa app.
- Restart your devices to refresh the connection and try discovering devices again.
