Open the Apple Home App

Identify the LIFX Bulb
- Browse through the "Home" or "Rooms" tab in the Apple Home app to find the LIFX bulb you wish to rename. Bulbs will be listed by their current names under the respective room they are grouped in.
- If you do not see your LIFX bulb listed, ensure it is set up correctly and that your Home app can detect it.
Edit the Bulb's Information
- Press and hold the icon of the LIFX bulb you wish to rename. This action opens a menu with controls and settings specific to that bulb.
- Locate and select the "Settings" option. It is typically represented by a gear icon, usually situated at the bottom right corner of the screen after you long press the bulb’s icon.
Rename the LIFX Bulb
- Inside the bulb’s settings, you’ll see a field displaying the current name of your LIFX bulb. Tap this field to edit and rename the bulb as desired.
- After typing the new name, press the "Done" button or a similar option in the app to save your changes.
Verify the New Name
- Return to the main page or room view in the Apple Home app to ensure the new name appears under the appropriate room and device list.
- Test the renamed bulb by issuing voice commands to Siri using the new name to ensure it is recognized correctly.
Troubleshooting Tips
- If the name change does not reflect, close and relaunch the Apple Home app and repeat the steps outlined.
- Ensure that both your iOS device and the LIFX bulb are updated to the latest firmware and software versions, which might affect functionality.
