Resetting LIFX Z LED Strip
- Start by ensuring your LIFX Z LED strip is powered on. You need to access its power source as you'll be using it to reset the strip.
- Locate the power connector that attaches the LIFX Z LED strip to its power adapter. This is typically near the beginning of the strip where the power cord is attached.
- Perform a reset by quickly unplugging and plugging back in the power connector from the LED strip. You need to do this sequence five times. Each step should be performed quickly, without long pauses.
- After the fifth time of plugging the power connector back in, leave the LED strip powered on. Observe the strip for a change in behavior. It should flash multiple colors indicating it has entered reset mode.
- Once the strip has flashed the colors, it will reset to the default factory settings. This means it will be removed from any previous setup and ready to be paired with a new device or network.
Connecting the LED Strip After Reset
- Open the LIFX app on your smartphone or tablet. Ensure that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your device for the setup process to function smoothly.
- In the app, tap on the option to add a new device. Follow the on-screen instructions to search for nearby LIFX devices. The reset LIFX Z LED strip should appear as an available device for connection.
- Select your LIFX strip from the list of available devices. Follow the prompts in the app to connect the strip to your Wi-Fi network. You'll need to enter your Wi-Fi credentials if prompted.
- Once paired, you can now name your LED strip and start using it through the LIFX app, customizing colors, brightness, and other settings as desired.
