Set a Hold Temperature on Ecobee
- First, ensure your Ecobee thermostat is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi. This step confirms that your device is ready to be configured.
- Go to the home screen on your Ecobee thermostat. You can do this by simply tapping on the display if it’s in sleep mode.
- Select the ‘Temperature’ icon on the home screen. This brings up the current temperature settings.
- Adjust the set point by using the up or down arrows next to the displayed temperature. Set it to the temperature you wish to hold.
- Once you have selected the desired temperature, look for the ‘Hold Until’ option. This lets you decide how long you want the temperature to stay at this setting.
- Choose how long you’d like to hold the temperature. You have the option to set it to ‘Hold until next scheduled activity’ or a specific time of your choosing.
- After setting the hold duration, confirm your selection by tapping on the 'Confirm' or ‘OK’ button (depending on your model). This action saves the hold settings.
- Your Ecobee will now maintain the temperature you set for the specified duration. A hold message is usually displayed on the screen to indicate this status.
Cancel a Hold Temperature on Ecobee
- If you wish to cancel a hold, simply tap on the ‘X’ or ‘Cancel’ button on the display. This stops the hold and returns the thermostat to its regular schedule.
- For remote access, open the Ecobee app or access the web portal. Navigate to the thermostat settings, and modify or cancel the hold from there.
