Access the Arlo App
- Download and install the Arlo app on your smartphone from the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android).
- Ensure that your Arlo cameras are properly set up and connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- Log in to your Arlo account with your credentials.
Navigate to Camera Settings
- Once logged in, tap on the "Devices" tab at the bottom menu of the app. This will display all connected Arlo cameras.
- Find and select the camera for which you wish to adjust the motion sensitivity.
Open Motion Settings
- Tap on the gear icon or “Settings” option located near your selected camera. This opens the settings menu specific to the camera.
- Scroll to find and tap on “Device Settings”.
- Look for the "Motion Detection" section and tap to enter.
Adjust Motion Sensitivity
- Within the “Motion Detection” menu, look for a slider or sensitivity setting option. It allows you to set how sensitive the camera is to motion.
- Adjust the slider to set your desired sensitivity level. Higher sensitivity will capture smaller movements, while lower sensitivity might ignore these minor motions.
- It is recommended to start with a medium setting and adjust according to your needs based on false alerts or missed activity.
Save Settings
- Once you have set the desired sensitivity level, ensure you save the changes. Look for a “Save” or “Apply” button and tap it.
- Wait a moment for the app to process and apply your new settings to the camera.
Test and Refine
- After saving, perform a motion test by moving in front of the camera to see how it reacts with the new sensitivity level.
- If you encounter false alerts (e.g., triggered by wind or small animals), reduce the sensitivity slightly. If it misses necessary alerts, increase sensitivity.
- Continue to adjust as necessary until you find the optimal setting for your environment.
Troubleshooting
- If the changes do not seem to apply, ensure your application is up to date. Check your phone for any pending updates for the Arlo app.
- Ensure that your camera is connected to the Internet, as the changes need to sync between the app and the camera.
- If issues persist, try restarting the app, your phone, or even the camera itself for any glitch corrections.
