Enable Do-Not-Disturb on Amazon Echo
- Open the Alexa App: Ensure you have the latest version of the Alexa app installed on your smartphone. Open it to begin making changes to your Echo device.
- Select the Devices Icon: Look for the ‘Devices’ icon in the bottom right corner of the app. Tap it to see a list of all your Amazon-enabled devices.
- Choose Your Echo Device: From the list of devices, find and select the specific Echo device you want to set to Do-Not-Disturb mode.
Activate Do-Not-Disturb
- Navigate to Settings: Once you select your device, tap on the ‘Settings’ gear icon in the top right corner of the screen.
- Find and Select Do-Not-Disturb: Scroll through the settings menu until you find the ‘Do Not Disturb’ option. Tap it to proceed.
- Toggle Do-Not-Disturb On: You will see a toggle button for Do-Not-Disturb. Switch it on to enable the mode. The device will now suppress notifications and alerts.
Optional: Schedule Do-Not-Disturb
- Set a Schedule: For even more convenience, the Alexa app provides an option to schedule when Do-Not-Disturb is active. This allows for automatic activation during certain times.
- Customize Time and Days: Specify start and end times for Do-Not-Disturb, and choose which days you’d like it to be active.
Alternative Method: Voice Command
- Use a Voice Command: Simply say, “Alexa, turn on Do-Not-Disturb” to activate the mode immediately without the app.
- Voice Confirmation: Alexa will confirm the mode is on, helping to ensure that you know the command was executed successfully.
Verify Do-Not-Disturb Is Active
- Check Device Lights: Most Echo devices will display a purple light ring or indicator when Do-Not-Disturb mode is active.
- Double-Check Settings: Go back to the Alexa app, and make sure the Do-Not-Disturb toggle is still on under your device settings.
