Sharing Control of Apple HomePod
- Ensure all users you want to share control with have an Apple ID and are added to your Home in the Home app. Invite them to become participants in your home. This is done by opening the Home app, tapping the home icon, selecting the "Home Settings," and then "Invite People."
- After sending the invitation, the other users will receive it on their Apple devices. They should accept this invitation to gain control access. They should also ensure they have the Home app installed and are signed in with their Apple ID.
- Verify that everyone who needs control is using up-to-date software on their Apple devices. Sometimes, software compatibility issues can prevent users from accessing shared devices properly.
- In the Home app, you can manage everyone's level of access. Go back to "Home Settings" and then tap "Edit" under the "People" section to adjust permissions if necessary. This lets you decide whether they can add other users, modify devices, or just control existing ones.
- Once setup, any invited participant can control the HomePod using Siri. They just need to use voice commands starting with "Hey Siri" or use the Home app to play music, podcast, or adjust settings.
- If problems arise, ensure everyone has decent internet connectivity, as controlling the HomePod through multiple devices relies on a strong network connection. Restarting the HomePod and the controlling devices may solve temporary issues.
