Prepare Your Devices
- Ensure that your LIFX bulbs are properly set up and connected to your Wi-Fi network through the LIFX app.
- Make sure that your Google Home app is installed on your mobile device and linked to a Google account.
- Double-check that both the LIFX bulbs and your mobile device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Sync LIFX Bulbs to Google Home
- Open the Google Home app on your mobile device.
- On the home screen, tap on the ‘+’ icon to add a new device.
- Select ‘Set up device’, and then choose ‘Works with Google’. This will open the list of linked services.
- Search for LIFX in the list and tap on it to begin the linking process.
- You'll be redirected to a login page. Enter your LIFX account credentials to authenticate the connection.
- Once authenticated, your LIFX bulbs will appear in the Google Home app.
Assign LIFX Bulbs to Google Home Groups
- Within the Google Home app, tap on the bulb you want to add to a group.
- In the bulb's settings, select the ‘Room’ option to assign it to a room. This effectively adds the bulb to that group.
- If you haven't created a room yet, you can do so by selecting ‘Add new room’ and entering a name for it.
- You can repeat this process for each LIFX bulb to ensure they are part of the desired group.
- Grouping bulbs allows you to control multiple lights at once using voice commands or through the Google Home app.
